Castiglione del Lago
Castiglione del Lago is situated in the heart of Italy and is the ideal base for visiting Umbria and Tuscany. Rome and Florence are within driving distance (the motorway is 20 km away) and the train takes little more than an hour (the station is 1 km away). The same goes for trips to the sea, the Adriatic to the east and the Tyrrhenian to the west.
Castiglione del Lago, first inhabited by the Etruscans, was once the fourth island in Lake Trasimeno. Full of historical and artistic attractions, it offers all you need for a pleasant holiday – nature, art and history, warmth and good cooking.
During the summer the medieval stillness of the village comes to life with the films, plays, folk dancing and performances of choral music, held within the walls of the ancient castle.
